About the Artist -- Yvonne Kydd, Regina, Saskatchewan

Born and raised in Whitewood, Saskatchewan, Yvonne Kydd calls upon her first-hand knowledge of rural life to depict her prairie landscape paintings. Since 1981, Yvonne has painted with striking realism, the beauty she sees in abandoned homesteads, historic buildings, and small towns set against the changing prairie sky. This style has earned her much respect in the art community and has made her one of Saskatchewan's most sought-after artists of prairie landscape and historical structures.

Corby Wisers displayed several of Yvonne's paintings as a promotion in 1999. Her paintings are featured on art cards, which are available across Canada; "Winter Friends" was selected for the 2000 City of Regina Christmas Card. Yvonne has forever held the present day with her paintings of historical buildings and projects featuring local landmarks-such as The Original City Hall, for the Regina Police World Games; "A" Block Depot Division for the R.C.M.P.; and Regina's Knox Metropolitan United Church.

Yvonne's work has also been featured on the cover of the Phone Directory for Regina and surrounding areas. In 2002 the cover featured the Edenwold Elevators and, 2004 the Legislative Building at sunset.

Yvonne is clearly committed to the arts, and often donates her art to several charities and many Wildlife sponsors throughout the year.
